Mixing up your routine a great way to break fitness plateau to get your best results!   1. I was just wondering….you have 5 min crunches on Thursday week 2. Are you just coming up with your own crunches or am I missing something of Chalene’s.

    • Hey! :) I do 5 minutes of whatever I can that day. Sometimes I pop in Ab Burner or Abs 10 and get about half way in, or I may do 5 1-planks or use a weight medicine ball to mix it up. Does that help?

  2. Hi, I’m into week 2 of the hybrid and was wondering what is meant by “20 min interval run”? Does this mean literally running fast & slow for 20 min, or just 20 min of the CLX Burn intervals? I work f/t and have 2 kids, so I work out late at night and I can’t do a run outside at night. Any feedback or suggestions you have would be super helpful! I love the hybrid so far! :)

    • I am so glad you are liking it!! The interval run does mean on a treadmill or outside, but you can always pop in HIIT 15 or HIIT 20. It will get you the exact same result. :)

    • It is a hybrid that Janelle, Chalene Johnson’s sister, shared with our coaching team. :) It is a bit more intense than the official one you will find in the TurboFire book. Have you tried the hybrid yet? How do you like Turbo and ChaLEAN?

  4. Glad to know how the hybrid came about on your site. I really like the turbo fire and Chalean. I just got the extreme advanced and don’t know how to incorporate it with turbo fire, advanced turbofire, extreme and accelerated extreme. Any advice would be appreciated.

  6. Have been doing Chalean Extreme for a couple years. Saw Turbo Fire and wondered if it is too high impact for me to try. Can’t tell from the videos how high the impact might be. I am 63, but am in good shape. Any advice would be appreciated.

    • Hi Mary,

      TurboFire is high impact, but it has low impact modifications. I really enjoy it, and the modifications are great. There are also new low-impact high intensity interval workouts you get with the program now too that look amazing! I would try TurboFire before Insanity or P90X because of the modifications offered.   7. I really like this schedule, I have TF but would mix it up with other workouts. I’ve been wanting to really commit to a program but I want more strength training than the TF toning videos ( I dont feel like there intense enough). I was looking at the hybid schedule in the TF booklet and I don’t like the first 3 recovery weeks. Do you think this schedule is good for wanting to loose weight as my main goal?

    • The hybrid was made by Jenelle (from CLX and TF) so I’m not 100% sure. From my experience, doing the same circuit so close together helps me to master the moves because I know the order of the moves. It offers a stronger challenge that 2nd time around! :) Does that make sense?

I just finished the first 4 weeks of ChaLean Extreme..I was considering doing a hybrid with TF the rest of the program,but I am wondering if I should just finish the 90 days of ChaLean Extreme first?   17. I’m on week 12 of this schedule and looking for suggestions on what to do next? This has been the perfect level of difficulty for me, certainly challenging but not so hard that’s it’s ever gotten discouraging. Any suggestions on what program or hybrid to tackle next?

      How did you like the ChaLEAN TurboFire hybrid? Did you follow it as 2-a-days like Jenelle? It’s a tough workout! I’m glad it was a perfect level of difficulty for you! Have you looked like Insanity or P90X? There are great hybrids for those plus they are both strong, advanced programs by themselves as well. What is your main goal? (Weight loss vs muscle gain) That’ll help me guide you to a workout too.

As a former marathon runner I love having these 12 week programs or a great race to keep me focused, motivated, and on track. Should I do P90X? I have completed it once but wanted your feedback on P90X2, as I know nothing about it. Keep up the good work! :)

  20. Hello! I am just confused on week 2, it says “Extreme Ab Burner” so is that the Extreme abs or Ab Burner? :) Also, seems like the schedule is funny because you are doing all the same muscle groups repeatidly in the same week (repeating Burn 1 all week long, shouldn’t it alternate Burn 1, Burn 2 , then Burn 3, which is how the CLX regular schedule is laid out). I am hoping to start Monday… so any input is appreciated. Thank you!

    • This was a hybrid created by Jenelle a couple of years ago. I would say you could pick Extreme Abs or Ab Burner on that day. Also, I think her thought process (though again, I didn’t make the hybrid) is that doing burn 1 a couple of times in a week will help you perfect your form and up your weights. :) Several of us in our accountability group have done this exact hybrid and seen really good results. :) I can add you to the group if you’d like.

  22. Hi Kalee,
    I have over 60 pounds that I need to lose and just finished T25 Alpha and Beta. I actually gained 10lbs, I am assuming muscle, but I did lose a couple of inches. However, I need more cardio, without giving up too much weight lifting as I still need to work my core(I loved the weight training in Beta)…. I did have to do the entire T25 as a modifier though. I am looking to do a hybrid. I recently acquired Turbofire, Chalean Extreme, P90X and Insanity, just haven’t started any of these yet as I was hoping you could point me in the right direction. Thanks!
