My mom and I both were teachers before becoming full-time, Elite Beachbody Coaches, but it wasn’t until we really started meeting others we saw how many successful coaches also had a background in education! Teachers make amazing Beachbody coaches because of their passion for helping others, organization under pressure and attention to detail!
As former high school math teachers, we loved watching kids realize that they could figure out a solution to a crazy looking equation. It was so rewarding to watch their transformation from being a timid freshmen to a confident, able senior.
5 Reasons Teachers Make Amazing Beachbody Coaches
Being a Beachbody coach is kind of like having a class of the “good kids” that want to learn.
As a first-year teacher, do you remember the kid you just hoped played hooky somedays? Call me terrible, but some days I really just mentally needed to prepare for some of the kids I had. I loved them, but I mentally prepared to love them if you know what I mean. ;)
Teachers make amazing Beachbody coaches because we’re prepared. We know that we may approach one class different from another. We know that it may take time, love, and saying it another way for it to really click….but as a coach, you get to work with the willing.
As a coach, it’s so amazing to meet people that have HUGE goals and dreams. Forget all A’s, these people are talking life-altering achievements in just a couple of months. Getting to work with the willing allows for amazing growth in a very short period of time.
As a teacher, you also know the high of a student going above and beyond.
That high kicks in as a coach too. Just as we root for our students to do bigger and better things, our goal for our coaches are to be able to hit every goal and dream they set for themselves.
I won’t lie – I also wanted time with my family as a teacher.
My mom chose teaching because it was a good fit for her passion and her family. I was 7 when she graduated and 11 when she started teaching. She was always there for me – snow days, summers, Christmas vacations, everything. She chose teaching to be with her kid, too.
I went through the same process when I was a senior in college with a degree in Marketing and Finance. Both jobs required a move if I was to be really successful and a ton of hours taking me away from my family. I didn’t want that. People always come first, then my job. So I mixed the two and taught.
Coaching offers the same benefits only better. No more required in-services when you KNOW the material covered. No more end-of-course testing chaos. You set the lessons. You set the hours. You work with who you want to.
Teachers make amazing Beachbody coaches because we’re driven to help our students, but we’re also good with pacing and our time available. As teachers, you know you have 30, 60, or 90 minutes to teach a lesson….there are very few professions that have that much focus on time and are also conditioned to have distractions each day.
You’re used to being asked questions and working backwards.
As a teacher, you have the unique ability and skill to be able to communicate the steps to finding a solution to a question.
As you lead your clients and potentially a team of other coaches, you’ll also be flexing your planning and creative skills. Just like when mom took over planning prom (which were amazing by the way!), you have the opportunity to create any kind of brand and business you want!
As a teacher, I also always loved to be a student as well.
I am such a learner. I love talking over a hard math problem or how to hit a coaching goal with like-minded people. I wake up excited to learn how to better reach my clients and help them stay motivated towards their goals. Being able to have a job that allows me to learn and work with others is a dream come true. I love it, and I am still able to teach what I learn & to work best with the best people I know!
