I’m home sweet home after spending a 6 days in Las Vegas!
Before I crash into bed, I wanted to share some of the highlights of the trip! No worries, the blog will get back to a healthy focus after this post! :)
My mom and I stayed at the MGM Grand for a conference. It was a really nice hotel, but we easily got lost the first day.
As soon as we landed, we went to the Burger Bar and walked the strip. Whatever calories the burger we split had, got torched walking! We got to the Bellagio just in time to watch the fountains! It happens every 15 minutes if you’re planning a trip to Las Vegas.
On our way back to the hotel, I was brought back to earth. Can you believe someone thought to dress up like Alan from The Hangover??! Pretty funny though! That night Shaun T’s T25 went on sale. I know we could have ordered it when we got home, but I couldn’t wait. A 25 minute workout is right up my alley.
Another cool thing we got to do was meet celebrity fitness trainers like Sagi from Body Beast.
He was hilarious!! Here we were asking if we could touch his abs. :P
That night the convention hosted a private pool party. I’ve only been to a handful of these events for anything, and it was really cool.
The next night was another private party at MGM Grand’s club, Hakkassan. These are just a few of the sweetest people I have met online. They are as beautiful on the inside as they are on the outside. All but two of them I had never met in person. We had so much fun!
Chalene Johnson, my total girl crush, was also there!! I could not believe it.
Saturday Jake flew in to spend the rest of the weekend with us. First stop — In-and-Out Burger. We don’t have one even remotely close to us in Tennessee so it’s always a treat!
His ability to travel and drive anywhere always amazes me. He rented a little Ford Focus and took us to old Las Vegas because I wanted to see the cowboy. If you decide to visit Las Vegas, make sure you take a bus or something and see the old strip. It is really cool, cheap, and they have live music and zip lining at night!
On the totally opposite side of the strip is the famous Las Vegas sign. We timed it just right because there was only two other people there.
That night I was really tired. We had planned on going to a club or bar, but we opted for walking the strip and getting a snack. I totally nerded-out at this pop-up chapel and had to take a picture. We’re going to the chapel, and we’re gonnnnaaa get marrrieeddd.
Let me set this up for you:
We were in the VERY back row next to people screaming. About 3 minutes before the show started, we were asked to fill seats closer to the stage because of filming. SCORE! Then, David did an illusion with the balloon in the picture right in front of us. We even got to feel it and make sure there wasn’t anything fishy about it.
About halfway through the show, I thought this was worth the money we shelled out to see the show. Then, he asked for 13 random volunteers for the final illusion. Guess which couple got to go?? :) :) Us!!
We had a great trip. Las Vegas seriously knows no time or day though; I’m glad to be home where things calm down in the little town about 8 o’ clock.
