At this time tomorrow, I’ll be 23. I’ve always liked the number, and I think it will be a great year. I love my life right now–great family, boyfriend, and a new job! 22 was hard because of a falling out I had with 3 of my best friends. I won’t go into details, but to tell you how bad my feelings were hurt, it was like I was mourning their death just with extra Facebook status updates. I still miss them, but I believe my judgement was right. I also think about Chalene Johnson‘s advice to find people that support, love, and push you. If they don’t she says “Get new friends!” so I here I go!
I’ll be 23, but 22 was also great in many ways:
1. I found how what I wanted to do for a living (I hope!)
2. I started blogging
3. I spent a lot of time with my grandparents
4. I graduated with honors and a finance award in May
5. I spoke at graduation
6. I went to a wine festival with my mom
7. I celebrated a year with Jake. :)
8. I started graduate school
9. I landed a job for the new year.
10. I learned how vital it is to surround yourself with people that respect you just as you are.
It looks so much more focused and accomplished than I feel like it was. I guess I should since I’ll be 23 tomorrow, and 22 is done!
Also, I’ve been looking for a pair of new tennis shoes after buying a pair of New Balance a few months ago. I bought them for $20, but they make my ankles hurt so bad during TurboFire. Sometimes a sale isn’t everything I guess. I found this pair on Nike (on sale). They look perfect for strength training and dance routines like TurboFire and Zumba. It also helped they were regularly $90, and after the coupon “WAFFLEIRON” $53.98. I still feel kind of guilty about buying them, but they will help me train better, prevent injury, and were priced nicely. Do you ever have to justify a purchase to yourself? Am I nuts?
I started the Eat Clean Challenge today, and I am off for my midmorning snack!
How are you getting back on track after the holidays?
Do you reflect on the year past on your birthday? What “years” have been your favorite so far? I loved 17 and 21.
