My parents took Jake and me out to Ruth Chris Saturday night to celebrate my birthday and first week of teaching. It was really good!
I loved the warm, rich colors they used in the restaurant. I ordered the Ruth’s Classic with a the spinach & pear salad, filet (served medium), mash potatoes, and chocolate cheesecake.
I had heard wonderful things about the salad on Yelp.com, and it was very good! It had a raspberry dressing, but it didn’t overpower any of the other flavors. I did not like the broccoli though; it was just bland. Also, I would have liked a roll instead of sliced bread, but it still had a great flavor.
I would definitely recommend Ruth Chris for a special night….though it should be special! My meal was $50, but I split it with Jake because it was so much food. We just ordered a side of broccoli and an extra salad.
Sunday I tried a Granola recipe I saw on The Chew. I only use granola sparingly on top of my greek yogurt (it’s so high in calories!), but it is still expensive after a while. Also, I have noticed even “healthy” brands are full of extra chemicals. Yuck! Anyways, this recipe was super easy to make, cheap, and used only whole foods. Super happy I found it! :) Click here to get the granola recipe too.
I also ended up ordering John Frieda’s dry shampoo yesterday from Ulta. I absolutely love that store! They had Buy 1 Get 1 Half Off and a $3.50 off $10 (enter the code: 67730 at checkout). I ended up getting 2 dry shampoos, an Ulta Conditioner, and 3 samples for $14 (not counting my 10% back!). :) Has anyone else tried John Frieda’s dry shampoo? I used Batiste before ordering this one, and I liked it okay. The smell was a bit off though so I wanted to try a different brand. What’s your favorite?
