I never was very big on Valentines Day until I met Jake. The reason isn’t mushy really; he just plans some awesome Valentines Day dates.
Usually we are about 50/50 on setting plans (though he’d tell you differently hehe), but he always plans Valentines day! All I have to do is show up and be ready close to when he comes to pick me up.
I found a few Pinterest Ideas I want to do this year for Valentines day though! All of them aren’t over-the-top hearts and red either so I would honestly do all 5 ideas anytime of the year. Crazy?

Also, here’s a quick recap of the past 3 Valentines Days with Jake.
Our 1st Valentines was unblogged (2011) – We went to a little restaurant that was locally owned and saw Casablanca in an old theater downtown.
Our 2nd Valentines (2012) was an amazing dinner complete with yummy cocktails, a steak, and only the finest dessert: Krispy Kreme. I was so excited to get dress up, but it also felt great to throw on my sweats, his Superman t-shirt that I love, and watch Smallville with him after.
Our 3rd Valentines (last year!) – Jake had been out of town for the week of Valentines, and I really wasn’t sure how it would go. He pulled it off though. We had a great time at Stony River.
I don’t know what our 4th Valentines day will hold, but it will be our last one as a single couple. I cannot wait until June to get married!
What do you think about Valentines? Does anyone have a Valentines Day horror story?
I’ll never forget getting so excited for my first valentines day with a boyfriend, and I thought it would be so magical. Well, he forgot. How I’m not sure, but I honestly believe he did because he was more clueless and careless. I ended up getting conversation hearts and a misspelt, handmade card on construction paper that had been doodled during a free class that day. Bless his and my heart. It wasn’t horrible, but it was at the time. :P
