Happy Memorial Day!!! I hope you are able to have the day off and spend it with family and friends. Thank you to all that have served or who have family that have. We enjoyed time with family and a quick date night to Whiskey Kitchen in Nashville.
I’m hoping Adam, my cousin who I grew up with, will be home in December! He is currently overseas and in the Air Force. I realize it’s a day of memorial, but I also think of him anytime freedom is brought up.
Here’s a recap of my long weekend for Katie’s Marvelous in my Monday!
Saturday Jake and I saw our favorite and the cutest 2 year old. I won’t post a picture since she is so small, but she was such a sweetie. Siena had a pool party with a Minnie Mouse theme. She loved her Minnie tea set!! We’re two for two on presents now — I really need to have a little girl when I have kids. I wouldn’t know what to do with a boy, but I’m sure he’d be sweet too. (Though he may not enjoy my glitter gel pens and Hello Kitty cards).
After Siena’s party, we went to TGIFridays. Jake and I both are trying to choose healthier (though not perfect) choices when we go out to eat after finishing the Whole 30. I got the petite sirloin with garlic butter with sweet potato fries and the vegetable medley. The butter may have been twice the size it should have been, but it was just as tasty as my usual Jack Daniel’s Burger.
Yesterday was my uncle’s birthday. I’ve mentioned our family birthday parties before, but they are one of my favorite things. We have them almost monthly, and it’s always so nice to see my grandparents and aunt and uncle. We are a crazy little bunch.
We had barbecue and fruit for the most part. Anjie had also made a cheese dip that was so good that I couldn’t resist. Both the watermelon and cantaloupe were so fresh and ripe that I ended up getting seconds.
Whiskey Kitchen makes the best Orange Splash Bellini! It is light and fresh with cava in it. Still not sure what that is, but I liked it.
After drinks, Jake was bound and determined to find something to do. I’ve always wanted to see Nashville’s “Lover’s Hill” so he took me. It was a lot nicer than I expected. It had places to even bring a picnic. I was expecting something smaller like where KaNicky took Rizzo in Grease.
Today we are getting together with friends after I tackle my Pump Extreme/ChaLEAN workout. I just made a new hybrid using Les Mills Pump, ChaLEAN Extreme, and TurboFire to use for Vegas (the trip is 3 weeks away!). I can’t wait to start it.
I’ll post it soon!
