Alkaline has been shown to have all kinds of positive effects on our body, and I always want to feel good. While the pictures have Beachbody on them, you can find Alkaline supplements many places. I just use Beachbody’s.
What is it?
Alkaline foods are how our bodies balance out acidic foods in our system.
Isn’t Alkaline a pH level thing?
Yes, “our pH is the measure of exactly how acidic or alkaline we are. A pH of 0 is completely acidic, and a pH of 14 completely alkaline. A pH of 7 is neutral.” – (source)
Supporters of consuming the green supplement say that the chemical balancing act can have all kinds of positive health benefits — which is why I’m chugging down this green stuff every day.

Jamie Eason, a fitness competitor, and Oxygen cover girl shared a tip from Jake Petrykowski:
I have been teaching my clients for years that we don’t have to give up our favorite foods altogether-just strive for 75-80% alkaline forming foods & liquids. Organic lemon in filtered water is a very inexpensive way to consume alkaline forming liquids AND we get a great burst of food form vitamin c (fresh lemon juice is also a great liver cleanser).
You can choose to get your alkaline from food or a supplement. I personally would rather use a supplement of whole foods because it’s easier for me to do even on the busiest days.
Alkaline rich foods are usually green vegetables. Some of which would be spinach, turnips, green cabbage, green beans, cucumbers, Brussels sprouts, and asparagus. If you think about it, these types of foods are known to help prevent disease and aid in weight loss. So whether or not you believe in the benefits or not, these unprocessed foods are great choices for a healthy body.
Based on my research on though, I would not try the “Alkaline Diet.” There is a lot of unproven ideas behind it, and it can restrict your calcium and iron which is essential to good health and strong bones. (source)
I do think if Jamie Eason and Tosca Reno use supplements even while following a clean diet, it’s something for anyone to consider.
