Hello, Sorey Fitness readers! My name is Katie, and I’m a fellow healthy living blogger striving to inspire people to lead active lives. You can find me over at Gettin’ My Healthy On, where I share my adventures in leading a [mostly] healthy life. I’m a runner, food enthusiast, recipe creator, and adventure seeker. I share all sorts of randomness on my blog, with an emphasis on being nutritious and getting fit.
Today, I’m excited to share a workout circuit I created recently! I’d consider myself a bit of a workout junkie because I love creating exercise circuits. It’s probably because I get bored really easily and am constantly trying to mix things up. Although running has always been my main love (and hate, let’s be real), I’m quite fond of core-specific circuit workouts. There’s just something about sore abs that hurts so good, ya know?! Plus, I’m on a mission to acquire a six pack, so I figure doing some extra core work while doing that healthy eating thing should help my case.
I’m a firm believer that you don’t need fancy equipment or a gym membership to be in great shape. As a result, a lot of my workout routines don’t require much, if any, equipment. For the below circuit, all you need is your bodyweight and a stopwatch (I just use a clock with a second hand). It’s a mixture of cardio to keep your heart pumping and core exercises that will get your midsection working.
Would you like to save this?
I went through the circuit two times, which took me about 15 minutes, but this may vary. By the second round, those burpees were pretty much in slow motion, but that’s beside the point. This workout incorporates some of my favorite core exercises (I’m lookin’ at you, v-ups) as well as some cardio awesomeness (I like star jumps too much; it’s concerning). If you’re not sure what a certain exercise is, I have a detailed exercise guide linking to example videos—OR you can do a simple Google search.
Hope you find this to be a great workout like I did! You can find more of my get-fit routines on my workouts page, if you’re interested.
A big thanks to Kalee for letting me take over her blog for a day.
What’s your favorite way to get active?
Thanks for the workout. I love the star jumps. Never heard of them before, I had to look it up in your exercise video index. It’s definitely harder than jumping jacks.
