Last year I put together my thankful list, and I am kind of excited -like the nerd I am- to see how similar my list this year is to it. .
But first – I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving with your family and friends.
Since I don’t do a daily post about what I am thankful for in November, I would like to share it in a blog post. I am writing this at midnight the night before Thanksgiving though; therefore, my grammar in last year’s post is probably better.
1. I’m very thankful to know that I don’t have to be in control of everything all the time. It is so comforting to know God has a plan and a purpose for me. I am slowly learning to hand over my worries and control-issues to him. I am very thankful for his mercy and grace too. Heaven knows I’m stubborn. He has given me a drive and purpose though, and I am so excited to see what His plan holds everyday.
2. My parents are seriously the best pair you could ever get. They are supportive, understanding, and helpful. I am learning I am more like each of them than I ever thought — well, my dad anyways. I’m grateful to see that I have pieces of both of them in my personality because they are both really great people.
3. Then there’s this man I love; that I even get to MARRY soon. He is amazing, kind, and so encouraging. He believes in me no matter what I have wanted to do – which changed about 4 times since we started dating before I found coaching/blogging. He is patient where I am impatient; and calm when I am not. He is also hilarious, always smells good, and so much more than I ever imagined my “perfect husband” to be.
4. I’m very thankful for how I was brought up. My family has always been so close. My family gets together monthly for birthday parties and dinners, and Jake fits right in. With all that said — I am so grateful to be apart of his family. They are so sweet and genuine. I feel like I’ve known them forever.
5. I’m thankful for my health. Without my health, I know every other aspect of my life wouldn’t be as rich.
6. The first three things I have been thankful for have also taught me the quote above. I’m thankful for everything I have been through in the last 6 years. None of it has been traumatic or even too eventful, but I felt lost and addicted to having a plan. They all taught me there isn’t a perfect way to do anything, and it’s okay to just cut yourself some slack and just live. Plus things usually end up just the way they were suppose to happen; I just have to have faith.
As Matthew would say L-I-V-I-N (Dazed and Confused movie quote).
7. I have been beyond blessed this year with my job. I met some amazing teachers during my first year teaching, and I am so thankful for how supportive they were. I don’t think I would have even lasted a year without them.
8. Consequently, I’m so thankful to be able to have my dream job of blogging and coaching full-time. I really hope to be able to help people do the same in 2014. I know if I can, anyone can!
9. I’ll say it — I’m thankful to never be (literally) starving. Not only that — I am thankful for healthy, yummy food.
10. I’m thankful for my home that is always comfortable and filled with love.
11. My mom and I were able to go to Disney World and Harry Potter World this year on Beachbody’s dime. We’ve never done anything like that trip alone before. It was so much fun, and yes, I almost teared up walking up to Hogwarts.
12. I’m also thankful that we were able to go to Florida again as a family.
13. I’m thankful for the purpose of Christmas and all of the time and memories I have with my family this time of year.
14. Over the past 2 years, my mom and I have met some amazing people that are now apart of Sweat Nation. Each one of them feels like family to me, and I am consistently inspired by them.
25. A good sale anywhere — Nanny, my grandmother, is an amazing fashionista and bargain hunter.
27. My LifeProof Case for my iPhone.
28. Netflix – I’m so addicted to Hart of Dixie (NO spoilers…I’m half way through season 2) ;)
29. I am grateful to be able to blog. Even if no one ever reads it, I have memories preserved here.
Lovely! Great list!
You have so much to be thankful for! Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!
