My mom and I are so sorry that Modere closed.
We went through the same thing when Beachbody (BODi) shut down its coaching network last fall. My mom and I had been there for over 13 years.
It was honestly like a gut punch.
We had built not just a business, but a community and friendships that meant the world to us.
Thankfully, we had built multiple streams of income—three blogs, a digital shop, and affiliate marketing—but the thought of starting fresh in network marketing felt daunting.
We had poured so much of our time, effort, and heart into the company and into our clients and team. And after 13 years, it just ended with an email.
Could we possibly do that again?!
Still, as we sat with our emotions, we realized how deeply we’d miss the community we’d nurtured.
Clients who knew, loved, and trusted us. They still needed and wanted our support, and honestly, we didn’t want to lose those relationships.
At first, we considered other ways to keep serving our clients.
Affiliate marketing commissions are usually so low though (1 to 10% started looking normal).
And did you know TikTok Shop usually requires a review of a product within 10 days of receiving it?
And since you usually get the product for free (and are doing a video to make a commission) – how many of those people are being 100% honest 100% of the time?
So, we started looking seriously at other network marketing companies, evaluating them carefully.
We explored Shaklee, Faster Way to Fat Loss, MAKE Wellness, and Hugh & Grace.
Ultimately, Hugh & Grace stood out to us for some important reasons:
- They prioritize clean, minimal ingredients that are third-party tested.
- They’re privately owned and committed to staying that way.
- They’ve successfully moved past the risky startup phase (5 years strong).
- Their CEOs are mission-driven, valuing genuine impact over sales alone.
- They offer a supportive culture without intense hustle and competition.
We personally tested their collagen, electrolytes, and protein products and found they were not only incredibly clean—far cleaner than Beachbody’s products—but effective, delicious, and something we genuinely loved using ourselves.
They’re also third party tested which was really important to us.
They also offer a great skincare line we’ve been using and a house cleaner that truly works on a dozen surfaces!
The Compensation Plan
The Hugh & Grace compensation plan is strong, too, offering 25% commissions, a 25% discount, and bonuses for both sales and team building.
This flexibility lets you focus purely on product sales if you prefer, without the pressure to constantly build or recruit.
Joining Hugh & Grace also allowed us to keep enjoying things we loved in network marketing like: meeting new people, incentive trips, retreats, and high-quality personal development.
More than that, we’ve found transparency, openness, and genuine support from the corporate team. We never have to worry about intense hustle culture or being told we must work around the clock.
The culture here is a lot more friendly and not competitive like it was at Beachbody.
Process, Grieve, and Take Your Time
I wanted to share this experience because I know how overwhelming and emotional it is right now.
You might feel pressure to immediately jump into something new to secure your spot, but remember: many newer companies aren’t structured like traditional binary setups.
Hugh & Grace, for instance, offers a different approach that feels less competitive and stressful.
Take a moment to breathe, pray (it certainly helped us), and consider what’s truly best for you, your brand, and your community.
You have time and space to make the right decision.
If you’re feeling unsure or just need someone to talk things through, please reach out.
There’s ZERO pressure to join our team or Hugh & Grace —just genuine support if you need it.
Whether you’re in your 30s, 40s, 50s, or beyond, know you’re not alone in navigating this change.
You’ve built something amazing already—your personal brand and trusted relationships.
Your next step might look different than before, and that’s okay. You’ve grown and changed, and the industry has evolved, too.
Whatever path you choose next, trust your instincts and stay true to your values. Your community will follow because they trust and believe in you.
