2 Avocado Tips For Any Guacamole Recipe

You’ll want ripe avocados. To find the perfect ones for guacamole look for one that is firm, but not mushy and it should be a dark green. A brighter green avocado that is very firm or hard is not ripe yet, and the brownish ones that are mushy are too far gone.

To open a avocado, slice it in half long ways. Then, you can either spoon out out the seed, or if you are a pro – take a knife to it. Then peel each side of the avocado.

I’ve tried several guacamole recipes, but this is Guacamole Recipe Food Network’s recipe is by far by favorite. It reminds me of the guacamole we had in Arizona at The Mission. If you’re ever in Scottsdale, you have to go there. They make it right in front of you, and everything we ordered was so good!

Great Guacamole Recipe for Any Friday Night

Ingredients

3 avocados, halved, seeded and peeled
1 lime, juiced
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon red pepper
1 clove garlic, minced
1/2 chopped onion
2 Roma tomatoes, seeded and diced
1/2 jalapeños, seeded and minced (optional)

Directions

Mix the avocado and lime juice together – lightly coating the avocados in the lime. Then, mash in the spices. After mixed, mix in the remaining ingredients and top with lime juice to preserve the coloring of the guacamole.

I personally love adding in the jalapeños for a little extra flavor and spice.

Avocados are packed with nutrition too!

Did you know they have more potassium than a banana? They are also lower in sugar and considered to be a high fiber choice. The fiber and monounsaturated (healthy) also help keep you feeling fuller longer!
