Healthy Chicken Salad with Apples (Dairy-Free, Gluten-Free)

This healthy chicken salad is gluten-free, dairy-free! It’s is a staple for lunch at our house and so creamy. We love it on its own, with crackers, or as a wrap.

It also only takes about 10 minutes to whip up a full batch! We like to make it and munch on it a few days during the week.

What You’ll Need

  • 20 oz canned chicken
  • 1 Honey crisp or gala apple – cut into chunks
  • 1/2 a small sweet onion or 1/4 C red onion – diced
  • 3 stalks of celery finely diced
  • 3 Tbsp or so of mayonnaise
  • 1-2 Tbsp of Dijon
  • 1 Cup almond milk yogurt
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt & pepper to taste

How to Make it

  • Place your chicken into a large bowl
  • Add in diced apple, onion, and celery
  • Stir in mayonnaise, Dijon, almond milk yogurt, garlic powder and salt
  • Mix thoroughly and enjoy!

Healthy Chicken Salad Variations

If you aren’t dairy-free, you could use Greek yogurt instead. 

You can also add more yogurt to make it creamier if you’d like.

This chicken salad would be great with pecans and raisins, too!

Notes

We used Kite Hill's plain almond milk yogurt for this recipe.
