I tested CurrentBody’s Series 3 LED Mask with 6 clinically tested wavelengths, MyDose, and benefits for fine lines, wrinkles, and redness. Below is my research, experience, and comparison of the Series 1 and 2 masks.

CurrentBody gifted us the Series 3 mask, and this post contains affiliate links, so I may earn a commission if you use my link or code SOREYCB (at no extra cost to you).

My mom and I have been using CurrentBody LED masks for years. We started with Series 1 around 2020 then upgraded to Series 2 and loved the fit! So when CurrentBody gifted us the new Series 3 LED Light Therapy Mask, I was curious how much better it could get, and if it was worth the difference in price.

Wearing the CurrentBody Series 3 LED Mask

First Reaction

CurrentBody’s Series 3 LED Mask looks a lot like the Series 2, and it fits the same.
The Series 2 has three wavelengths that target anti-aging: red, near-infrared and deep near-infrared, but Series 3 is even better! It has those 3 wavelengths plus blue for acne, green light for pigmentation, and yellow for redness.

All 6 wavelengths are clinically tested, and you can customize which wavelengths go where using MyDose.
MyDose is my favorite thing about this new mask. Instead of treating my entire face exactly the same way, I can tell the mask which wavelengths I want and where. Mom can use the same mask in a completely different way.

Quick Review: Is CurrentBody Series 3 Worth It?

For me, yes. I don’t think everyone needs to immediately replace Series 2, though. Series 2 is still a really good red light mask, especially if anti-aging is your main goal.
Series 3 makes more sense if you’re working on several skin concerns or love the idea of customizing treatments to your face.
It also fits much better than our original Series 1, covers the chin well and still only takes 10 minutes.
I think if you have Series 1, you’re going to be blown away by the Series 3.

Currentbody Series 1, 2 and 3 Masks Side by Side

Why Trust Me?

I’ve personally researched and used Series 1, Series 2 and Series 3. I’ve worn all three, adjusted the straps, tried the different treatments and noticed how much the fit and technology have changed.
CurrentBody gifted us Series 3, but we were already using and loving their previous masks before this one came out. I received it in September 2026, and I’m testing it consistently and will update this review at the eight-week mark with my own before-and-after photos.

What Makes CurrentBody Series 3 Different?

Series 3 is CurrentBody’s customizable clinical-grade LED mask, and it’s the first one we’ve used that lets you decide exactly where each wavelength goes on your face.
CurrentBody Series 3 Mask Wavelengths Irradiance
It uses six wavelengths:

  • Red: 633 nm
  • Near-infrared: 830 nm
  • Deep near-infrared: 1072 nm
  • Blue: 415 nm
  • Green: 532 nm
  • Yellow: 590 nm

So you can use the mask 6 different ways or create your own custom LED Mask by creating a MyDose treatment in their free app.

If you’re into the science…

CurrentBody says the mask has 125 chipsets for each wavelength, totaling 750 LED diodes.  Series 2 had 236 LED diodes and three wavelengths.

How to Set Up MyDose

Creating your personalized light therapy treatment is easy!
You connect Series 3 to the CurrentBody app, choose the wavelengths you want and where you want them on your face, and MyDose calculates the light dose for the treatment.
Creating MyDose on Currentbody's App
So you can even use all six wavelengths in the same session, and MyDose adjusts the dose based on where you place each one. That means I can use deep near-infrared around my lower face, green on my sun spots, yellow on my rosy cheeks and blue wherever I’m breaking out, all at once.
Sending a MyDose to Your CurrentBody Series 3 Mask
You can also create a mask and send it to a friend or your esthetician could create a MyDose for you and send it over!
You just share a code that is generated within the free app.

Do you have to use MyDose?

No. You don’t have to use MyDose if you don’t want to. Series 3 also has four preset treatments. That flexibility is what makes it easy to actually use.

What Do the Different Colors Do?

Here’s the easy version.

Red, Near-Infrared and Deep Near-Infrared

These are the anti-aging wavelengths I already loved in Series 2. They’ve been studied for fine lines, wrinkles, firmness, elasticity and plumpness. CurrentBody’s testing showed improvements in wrinkles, hydration, firmness and elasticity over time.

Blue

Blue light has been studied for blemish-prone skin. I still get the occasional breakout, so I like being able to add blue only where I need it. For persistent or severe acne, I’d still see a dermatologist rather than relying on an LED mask alone.

Green

Green light supports a more even skin tone and has been studied for pigmentation. This is the one I’m most interested in because I have sun spots I’d like to improve.

Yellow

Yellow light has been studied for visible redness.
Heres how the Series 3 fits

How does the CurrentBody Series 3 fit?

If you’ve ever used Series 1, the newer fit is SO much better. Series 2 and 3 are made of flexible silicone that sits close to the face. I love how both the Series 2 and 3 fit around my chin too compared to Series 1.

CurrentBody Series 3 Before and Afters

I’m still testing the Series 3, but below is my Series 2 before and after. You can see my full results in my CurrentBody Series 2 review.

I can’t wait to see what the Yellow and Green wavelengths do for my complexion and redness!

What I Like Most

My favorite things about Series 3 are:

  • MyDose customization
  • Six clinically tested wavelengths in one mask
  • Fits great and offers full chin coverage
  • Four presets for days I don’t want to customize
  • A rechargeable controller
  • CurrentBody’s LED testing
  • I can send my custom mask to a friend with the free app!

The biggest con is the price.

This is definitely a premium device, and if you already own Series 2 and only care about anti-aging, you may decide you don’t need the extra features.

Is CurrentBody’s Series 3 LED Mask Worth the Money?

If you’ll commit to using it, it’s absolutely worth it.

Would you like to save this?

We'll email this post to you, so you can come back to it later!

If you’ll use it three to five times a week, the convenience and results are hard to beat. You don’t need an appointment, you don’t have to drive anywhere and you’re not paying every time you want a treatment.

As someone with sensitive skin that is also prone to keloids, I can’t do a lot of the medical grade treatments like microneedling or lasers. So this has been such a great option for me, but if you can do those, the Series 3 mask could be a great addition to your skin care routine and help you see results possibly with less treatments.

How Much Is CurrentBody Series 3?

Series 3 is a premium LED mask, and the price changes depending on promotions and your country. You can check the current price below and save with my code, SOREYCB.

Comparing Series 1 Vs Series 2 vs Series 3

I’m going to write a separate full comparison because this could easily turn into a novel.

currentbody LED Mask lit up

The short version is that Series 1 is a great budget-friendly red light therapy mask. It had 2 clinically tested wavelengths and is great for anti-aging, but it’s definitely got two big sisters that do more. The Series 1 also has fewer LEDs than the other two options, and the fit isn’t as good.

Series 2 has 3 wavelengths and is a very good anti-aging mask.

Series 3 has 6 wavelengths, 750 LED diodes, much more deep near-infrared coverage, four presets and MyDose customization.

CurrentBody Series 3 FAQ

Do You Need Series 3 If You Only Care About Anti-Aging?

Not necessarily, but there’s one big difference worth knowing about. This was one of my biggest questions: if I use the Advanced Anti-Aging preset on Series 3, am I basically getting the same treatment I had with Series 2?

CurrentBody told me the anti-aging benefits are the same type, but there’s a BIG difference in deep near-infrared coverage. Series 2 has 16 deep near-infrared chipsets, while Series 3 has 125!! So I’m still getting the same three anti-aging wavelengths I liked in Series 2, with far more deep near-infrared coverage behind them.

If you already own Series 2 and love it, it’s still a great anti-aging mask. If you’re buying your first mask or upgrading from Series 1, I’d go with Series 3, since you get that extra deep near-infrared coverage plus the option to work on breakouts, pigmentation and redness whenever you want.

Can You Use All Six Wavelengths at the Same Time?

Yes, you can use all six wavelengths in one treatment by using MyDose. It adjusts the output depending on the treatment you choose.

Does The Series 3 Cover the Neck and Chest?

The face mask is designed for your face and chin. If you want to treat your neck and chest too, CurrentBody makes a separate Series 3 Neck & Décolletage mask. You can also get a discount on it with code SOREYCB.

Should I use skincare before or after the mask?

You should always have a clean, dry face when using any of the CurrentBody LED Masks. After, you can apply the rest of your skincare.

How Long Does It Take to See Results?

Some of CurrentBody’s research shows changes around four weeks, while other studies measured results after eight weeks. Consistency matters, too! You want to use it 3-5x a week.

Is It Safe for Sensitive Skin?

CurrentBody recommends doing its sensitivity test first and checking its contraindications if you use medications or skincare that can increase photosensitivity.

With that said, I haven’t had any issues personally, and I have very sensitive skin.

Why Do Some of the Lights In My Series 3 Mask Look Like They’re Off?

Near-infrared and deep near-infrared are invisible to the naked eye.

What Makes CurrentBody Different From Cheaper LED Masks?

For me, it’s the combination of fit, wavelengths, research and testing. CurrentBody uses Veritace® to test its LEDs for wavelength accuracy and device performance.

Plenty of masks light up red, but I want to know the light is actually doing what the brand says it does.

That’s one reason I think it stands out when people ask me about the best LED masks or best red light masks.

How Do You Use the CurrentBody LED Mask?

Start with a clean, dry face with no makeup or moisturizer underneath. Choose a preset or one of your saved MyDose treatments, hold the power button to turn it on, and wear the mask for 10 minutes.

How Do You Charge the CurrentBody LED Mask?

CurrentBody recommends charging the device for 3 hours before first use. The power indicator will flash while charging and stay solid when it’s fully charged. The device won’t run while it’s charging, so disconnect it from the charger before your treatment.

I find I can get about 5 or 6 uses out of the Series 3 before I need to recharge it. It also depends on how often you connect it to Bluetooth. The more you connect it the more often you’ll need to recharge.

How Do You Clean the CurrentBody LED Mask?

Cleaning it is really easy. CurrentBody says the silicone doesn’t harbour bacteria, so you can wipe it down with a dry or slightly damp cloth. There’s no need for alcohol or antibacterial wipes, which is nice if you have sensitive skin. Don’t submerge the mask or use abrasive cleaners.

Can You Use the CurrentBody LED Mask Every Day?

CurrentBody recommends using the mask 3 to 5 times a week for optimal results, and it doesn’t advise using it longer than the recommended treatment time.

That’s the schedule I’m following during my eight-week test. Consistency matters more than squeezing in extra sessions, so I’d rather hit five days a week every week than go all in for a few days and then forget about it.

My Final Thoughts

I wasn’t unhappy with Series 2, which is probably the biggest compliment I can give Series 3. Series 3 didn’t “fix” anything. It took a mask I already loved and made it much more personal.

I still get the anti-aging wavelengths from Series 2, but now I can work on breakouts, pigmentation and redness too.

If you have a question about Series 3, MyDose, the fit or Series 2 vs Series 3, leave me a comment! We’ve used all three, so I’m happy to tell you what I’ve found.
