What I Love Most About the Claypot Multicooker
1. Truly Non-Toxic Materials
The pot and lid are made from 100% Kaolin clay and is third-party tested. That makes it a great option if you’re trying to build a non-toxic kitchen.
2. Beautiful Enough to Serve From
One feature I didn’t expect to enjoy so much was serving directly from the clay pot. It keeps food warm and simplifies cleanup.
3. It’s Beautiful Enough to Leave on the Counter
Let’s be honest — aesthetics matter. Unlike bulky appliances like air fryers or Instant Pots, the claypot actually looks nice.
4. Versatility
This appliance can replace your slow cooker, rice cooker, braising pot, and a Dutch oven.
The clay pot is also oven safe up to 500°F, which adds even more flexibility.
5. You Can Cook, Serve, and Store in the Same Pot
One thing I unexpectedly loved was serving dinner directly from the clay pot.
It retains heat really well and looks nice on the table.
You can also store leftovers directly in the pot — just make sure it cools first before putting it in the fridge.

How I Tested the Magnifique Claypot Multicooker
For this review, Kalee and I used the Magnifique Claypot Multicooker several times per week for three weeks.
We paid attention to how easy it was to clean, how evenly foods cooked, and whether the clay cookware changed the flavor compared to our traditional slow cooker.
So far we’ve tried out:
- oatmeal and rice for meal prep
- chicken thigh and shredded chicken
- beans and soups
We also tried their chicken thighs with peas, onions, and fingerling potatoes from the booklet that’s included. Everything gets cooked in the one pot, and it was easy to make. We all 3 really enjoyed it, too!
It also looked really fancy!
Chili, meatballs, macaroni and cheese, and chicken tacos are next up on our list to try out!
the results
The oatmeal, chicken, beans, and soups have all turned out really well!
The flavor and texture using the non-toxic claypot hands down wins against our slow cooker.
We’re still mastering the rice setting. It works, but we had to add some water otherwise we had some hard pieces.
It’s also really easy to clean. It’s dishwasher safe, but we’ve been hand washing it. We love that you can cook in it, serve out of it, and store leftovers all in the same spot.
Also, if you meal prep, we loved cooking up a big batch of rice, beans, and oatmeal once a week!
What Surprised Me
What surprised me most was the flavor difference.
With traditional crockpots, ingredients sometimes blend together and everything tastes similar. But the ingredients in this dinner kept all of their original flavors. The chicken had a great texture from searing it first and the potatoes were perfectly tender.
Another thing I noticed is how well the clay pot holds heat.
Even after turning the cooker off, the food stayed warm long enough for everyone to grab seconds without reheating.

Why I Wanted a Non-Toxic Multicooker
We’ve slowly made more non-toxic kitchen swaps over the years, and this multicooker fits right in with that goal.
For example, we try to avoid:
- plastic wrap
- bleached parchment paper
- Teflon cookware
- PFAS whenever possible
But finding good non-toxic kitchen appliances can be tricky.
Before finding this, I did cave and bought an air fryer, and I’ve had a traditional slow cooker for years.
Both were convenient, but the black plastic components, especially at high temperatures, always bothered me.
When appliances heat up, the materials they’re made from matter. The black plastic has been linked to all kinds of issues.
That’s why I started paying much closer attention to healthy cookware materials and safer kitchen appliances.
We love that Magnifique’s Claypot Multicooker isn’t just coated in clay – it’s actually made 100% from clay.

First Impressions When I Opened the Box
The packaging was beautiful, and the multicooker itself is honestly very pretty.

I chose the sage color, which works perfectly with our cream cabinets and dark granite countertops.
The clay pot feels sturdy and really high quality. It’s also well designed, and it’s pretty enough to sit on your countertop!
It’s about as heavy as a traditional crockpot — not overly heavy, but solid.
Setup was extremely simple – just unbox it, plug it in, and select your cooking mode.
The interface is intuitive. You press MODE to cycle through settings like sauté, sear, slow cook, rice, oats, etc.
Clay Cookware Benefits
Clay cookware has been used for thousands of years, and if you’re trying to transition to healthier cookware, clay is one of the oldest and most natural cooking materials available.
Some clay cookware benefits include:
- gentle, even heat distribution that prevents hot spots
- excellent moisture retention, which keeps meats tender
- natural materials without synthetic coatings
- balanced flavors, especially in soups, stews, and braised dishes
Because clay cooks more gently than many metal surfaces, it often produces richer flavor and better texture in slow-cooked meals.
The meals I’ve made in it taste more balanced and less “blended together” compared to my crockpot meals.
Clay cooking can also create a slightly more alkaline cooking environment, which may mellow acidic sauces and bring out sweeter, more balanced flavors.
Claypot vs Instant Pot vs Air Fryer
| Feature | Claypot Multicooker | Instant Pot | Air Fryer |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cooking Surface | 100% Kaolin clay | Metal insert with plastic housing | Metal basket with plastic components |
| Noise | Very quiet | Moderate | Louder |
| Best For | Non-toxic cooking, soups, rice, meal prep | Pressure cooking | Crispy foods and quick reheating |
| Aesthetic | Pretty enough to leave out | Bulky | Bulky |
For us, the Claypot works well as a clay slow cooker alternative while avoiding plastics used in many appliances.
Best Non-Toxic Multicookers
If you’re researching the best non-toxic multicooker options, here’s how some compare.
| Multicooker | Cooking Surface | Best For |
|---|---|---|
| Magnifique Claypot Multicooker | 100% Kaolin clay | People prioritizing non-toxic materials and flavor |
| Instant Pot | Stainless steel insert | Pressure cooking and speed |
| GreenPan Elite | Ceramic-coated insert | People who prefer ceramic-coated options |
For anyone prioritizing healthy cookware materials, the Claypot is unique because the entire cooking surface is clay.
A Few Honest Notes
Like any appliance, there’s a small learning curve.
For example, when cooking rice I found I needed to add about ½ cup more water to prevent a few grains from sticking. Once I adjusted the ratio, it worked great.

Who It Might Not Be For
It may not be ideal if:
- you prefer cooking everything on the stovetop
- you only cook for one person (and don’t like leftovers)
