Watching what you eat doesn’t mean you have to give up on all your favorite treats!

You just need to know which brands are the best ice cream for Weight Watchers. Check out these delicious frozen treats that come in low in WW points.

First things first, portion size does matter.

While many of these low-calorie ice creams promote that you can eat the whole pint, we recommend sticking to a serving size.

While it’s tempting to eat the whole thing, there are a few reasons it isn’t the best choice.

To start, a lot of these low point ice creams have artificial flavor and artificial sweeteners that should be limited.

Secondly, training yourself to enjoy a whole pint of ice cream at the end of the day isn’t great for learning serving sizes of treats.

And furthermore, it would get expensive!

Keep in Mind

Different flavors of even healthy ice cream will vary in calories, artificial and traditional sugars, and fats.

So it’s important to read the nutritional information for each type of ice cream. For example, Skinny Cow Vanilla ice cream is 3 SmartPoints per serving, but the Chocolate Cake Me Away may be higher.

Low on Points?

If you’re counting your WW Smartpoints, and you’re on the lower end of points, we like to add chocolate chips, Walden Farms chocolate syrup, or bananas to one of the vanilla ice creams listed below.

Vanilla tends to be a lower calorie option, and you can add toppings to create a decadent dessert.

How are WW Smart Points calculated?

SmartPoint values are calculated using the calories, saturated fat, sugar and protein. Fruits and vegetables are still zero points — which matches the old PointsPlus value.

Yasso, Enlightened, and WW also all have ice cream bars or ice cream sandwiches. We love these options because they are pre-portioned and fall into a low range of points.

You could also make your own “nice cream” using frozen bananas. It gives you that creamy texture with less sugar than a lot of traditional types of ice cream. Just make sure to use ripe bananas for your easy homemade ice cream.
