Cafe Latte Shakeology is now available. We were able to try the coffee flavor last fall as an Elite coach, and it didn’t disappoint. It was so creamy, rich and like a Starbucks Latte without all the junk they put in it.
What does Cafe Latte Shakeology taste like?
They blended our sample with a little almond milk, water, and milk. It reminded me of a Starbucks’ Mocha Frappuccino more than anything. It is coffee flavored, but it does have a chocolate-nutty undertone to it.
If you like your coffee black or strong, you may want to mix Cafe Latte with more coffee, but it was perfect for me since I like a little creamer or sugar in my coffee.
Beachbody describes it as “A robust and smooth café latte flavor…“
Does it have additives or preservatives like creamer?
Just like the other flavors of Shakeology, there is no additives or preservatives.
What kind of protein is used in Cafe Latte Shakeology?
Right now it’s a whey protein. There is no vegan option at this time.
Does Cafe Latte Shakeology have more caffeine in it?
Unfortunately (or fortunately if you hate caffeine) it doesn’t. So if you’re a coffee drinker, you may want to add in a little coffee to your shake for that caffeine boost and still have that creamy taste.
You could also use the Shakeology Focus Boost for a bump in energy. It doesn’t have caffeine either, but it really does put a pep in your step. I can’t do the Focus Boost after 3pm or I’m wired before bed.
When should you drink it?
Anytime! It is recommended daily to get in your whole food, amino acids, prebiotics and probiotics, adaptogens, antioxidants and the overall effects of Shakeology. You can have 1-2 a day, and anytime during the day. I plan on having mine with breakfast since it is coffee flavored. Another good time would be after your workout as a post-workout recovery snack.
Some people say coffee is bad for you, what’s the scoop on that? What makes this any different than say, Folders and a scoop of protein?
To start, Shakeology is more of a well-rounded meal replacement than a protein shake. It has more whole foods, fiber, digestive enzymes, vitamins and minerals than a traditional shake on the market, and it contains no additives.
The coffee flavor in Cafe Latte Shakeology actually comes from the whole coffee fruit versus just the bean. Picture the coffee plant as a cherry – the Cafe Latte uses the pulp like stuff on the outside, and then the bean would be the cherry pit.
This is something not found in other coffee drinks. The fruit contains antioxidants to help with blood sugar, immune system support, and reducing inflammation. The antioxidant found in the fruit is actually 625% more powerful than the blueberry which is a widely known power food. This means you’ll get the benefits of coffee studies along with the other additional benefits any flavor of Shakeology gives you.
What does Shakeology do anyways?
It can help you with the following:
- Lose weight
- Reduce junk food cravings
- Provide healthy energy
- Support your digestion and regularity.
I speak from experience saying it has helped my mom’s blood sugar and cholesterol get back under control, and it’s also helped both of our hair grow more healthy.
