We’ve found the best Chocolate Shakeology Recipes to help you stay on track and simplify your meal prep! These super simple recipes include peanut butter, spinach, and coffee-based smoothies, as well as, treats like ice cream and pancakes!
When it comes to indulging in something sweet and delicious that doesn’t wreck all your hard work, it can be super hard to do. Trust us, we’ve been there. After years of “following the trends” and doing a “yo-yo diet” of eating this and that, it’s apparent that type of eating healthy and dieting just doesn’t work. Plus, the word “diet” just tends to have a bad connotation with it as well. It’s not our favorite word so we don’t tend to use it all that much.
If you’re ready to get your health in line and tackle your sweet tooth once and for all, these chocolate Shakeology recipes can help you do just that!
What can you mix with Shakeology?
Really, anything that you want. We tend to like ours a bit on the sweeter side, but you can also add in spinach or healthy fats to level up your shake even more.
Almond milk is also always a great addition to your Shakeology drink, and if you’re looking for an extra dash of caffeine, some coffee can be tossed in there, too.
Which Shakeology tastes the best?
In our opinion, we love chocolate the best, BUT that doesn’t mean that everyone does.
Some prefer the Strawberry or Vanilla flavor as well. They’re seriously all really tasty so make certain to venture out and give them all a try before you settle on your favorite. (That’s what we did, and it was super fun creating recipes and trying out all the different tastes!)
The only flavor we don’t like is Greenberry (which they are now discontinuing).
- Chocolate (+ a plant based option)
- Vanilla (+ a plant based option)
- Cafe Latte
- Tropical Strawberry
- Greenberry (being discontinued Summer of 2020)
- Pumpkin (plant based + seasonal)
- Peppermint Mocha (plant based + seasonal)
How do you make Shakeology thicker?
Another reason that we love Shakeology is that it can be created to taste a bit differently each time. Sometimes it’s nice to have a thin liquid that you can easily drink in one gulp to get on with your day while other times, you can make it a bit thicker to enjoy like a milkshake.
The easiest way to make it thicker is to have less liquid in the shake and more of the other added in ingredients. Finding the consistency that you’re looking for might be a bit of a learning curve at first, but after a time or two, you’ll have it down in no time flat.
Now that you know a bit about Shakeology shakes, let’s dive in and see some of the simple Shakeology recipe options that you can easily create at home!

Tips to keep in mind for these Chocolate Shakeology Recipes
First off, don’t these Chocolate Shakeology Recipes sound legit amazing? They’re all super simple to make, too!
There are a few things to keep in mind when you’re creating these shakes so here are some simple tips to remember.
Count all the calories in your shakes
While it’s fun to create and add in ingredients, make certain that you’re counting all the calories for that scoop of nut butter and honey. They do add up and need to be on your radar when you’re working on eating more healthily.
Liquid choice matters
Making your shakes with water means fewer calories, but it also will mean less flavor as well. Using almond milk or another type of liquid will add to the sweetness but will also add to the calories, too.
Don’t mix by hand
No one wants a chunky shake…no one. While you might be tempted to stir it by hand, just don’t.
A blender is always a better choice as it really breaks everything up and mixes it together perfectly. Plus, if you’re adding in frozen bananas or ice cubes, there’s no other way to really get those to break down besides using a blender.
We love this single-serve blender!
As you can see, these chocolate Shakeology recipes aren’t hard at all. Get started experimenting with the tastes and flavors and have fun!
