Autumn’s 21 Day Fix Extreme came out earlier this month, and my mom and I splurged for express shipping!! We received it within just a few days, and then started on 2/9!! Here’s what we included in our 21 Day Fix shipment; we already had containers from the original 21 Day Fix and a monthly subscription to Shakelogy. If you don’t have containers, they come with the base kit which is really cheap. Check it out here or as a challenge pack. We figured our containers out and made a meal plan for the week. The meal plan is very similar to the original 21 Day Fix, but differs in 3 ways.
21 Day Fix Extreme Review of the Meal Plan
1. No cheats – You can’t save your yellow containers up for a cheat this time. It’s extreme and that includes your meals! 2. Countdown to Competition Meal Plan – This is what Autumn follows before a show, and it’s mostly protein and veggies for 2 days, and then you get to get the regular meal plan (very similar to the original plan) 3. Exactly What Autumn Eats – Unlike the original, this book actually tells you the foods Autumn eats on a daily basis and ones that are good, healthy choices but something she avoids before a show.

You can also order your Challenge Pack now to make sure you have it in time! We are aiming to eat closely to what Autumn eats all 3 weeks, but week 3 will definitely be the toughest. We’re going to eat exactly as she does (well no fish), and I’ve really researched the sodium levels in everything as well.
Again it’s a lot of veggies and proteins. Neither of us are big on veggies, but it’s honestly not been too bad. Until it’s 9pm, and you want an Oreo…. That’s why having an accountability partner or being part of a challenge group is so important!
What Are The 21 Day Fix Extreme Workouts Like?
On Monday, we started doing Plyo! We both are careful about jumping because we want to protect our knees, but the form shown is really great in the workout. The jumps aren’t too big, and she walks you through where your knees should be which is something that is often missed in workouts in gyms. Upper Fix is very similar to the original, but you actually have drop sets in it, and the time between moves is shorter. This was kind of a pain since I use Select Techs, but I made it work. I did one round with heavy and then one round with lighter weights. (Don’t get any wild ideas – I never used 20’s either! I stuck to 10’s and 5’s) Lower Fix also has some jumping in it for 30 second periods. This workout is NO joke. I never look forward to leg days, but this one is tough. It’s short lived though – no exact move lasts more than 30 seconds which I love! I used 5lbs for these moves.
The beast of all beasts (to me anyways) is the Cardio Fix Extreme. It’s actually 33 minutes, but I took little breaks to bring my heart rate down. 359 calories in 38 minutes was awesome for me! Normally I’m in the upper 200s.
Can you do the 21 Day Fix Extreme when life gets busy?
Definitely! Last week we had appointments all week! The meals can be prepped easily, and the workouts are still 30 minutes!
How are we feeling after Day 7?
Way more in control of our food and meal prep! It’s a lot of meals, but they are small and easy to make. I know we are both also seeing our tummies flatten out whether it be the workout, meal plan, or water. I also feel like I have more energy and flexibility than I’ve had in a long time! I’m loving it and cannot wait to see my after pictures, weight, and measurements in 2 more weeks!!
Okay Confession Time…
In January, I realized I had gained 10 lbs and several inches since getting married. Happily Ever After weight is real, and it hit me like a ton of bricks that I couldn’t eat like my husband anymore when my jeans didn’t fit. I started with a modified 6-week schedule of Body Beast. I am back in my jeans, but the scale hadn’t budged. I actually gained weight! WHAT! So I weighed on Day 1 of the 21 Day Fix Extreme and took my pictures and measurements, and I don’t plan on doing them again until the morning of Day 22. That way I stay sane and just trust the program. :)
Day 1’s weight is above. I am normally 115-117lbs, and I’m 5’3″ and considered a small frame. My healthiest weight is between 112-127lbs based on my doctor’s recommendation. So I am not happy at this weight – it’s just doesn’t feel like me and effects my health. Luckily, I have the ability to change it!

21 Day Fix Extreme Review: Week 1 Recap
I have to say this week – I’ve learned it’s not about going EXTREME in your life. It’s about having healthy habits and giving it your ALL during a short workout. I don’t plan on just eating protein and veggies forever. I will go back to the original 21 Day Fix meal plan with the option to have 3 small treats each week after this round is over. I just want to show myself and anyone else struggling right now that you can do anything for 21 days!
