P90X3 is out today! I admit it, I haven’t done P90X2. I heard it was P90X on one leg. Are you crazy?! I’m healthy, but I’m certainly not ready for that. So when Tony Horton mentioned X3 in Vegas, I kind of blew it off.

Then, learned 2 really cool things about P90X3.
1) P90X3 is not a graduate program. So even if you’ve never touched P90X or P90X2, you are ready to do X3. You could even do X3 and do P90X after.
2) All 20 workouts are 30 minutes! SCORE. The length of each workout of P90X really frustrated me. I felt like I was working out all day (about an hour and fifteen minutes in reality). I loved the moves, and Tony’s personality though. 30 minutes was my big selling point.
I guess I wasn’t the only one complaining about the length because Tony said, he hears “your programs are awesome, they make me look incredible. But an hour every day? Come on . . .” all the time!
I took everything I learned from P90X and P90X2—coupled it with new science that shows intense 30-minute workouts can get you in better shape faster—and slammed it all into overdrive. — Tony Horton (Get a pep talk from Tony Horton — This is HILARIOUS (It’s a mp3))
Results from the P90X3 Test Group
If I wasn’t sold already, I am from the test group’s results. I knew even 30 minutes would be really hard because T25 will kick my butt. Though these results SHOW you the workouts will be hard but also effective. All but 1 person lost 10% of their body fat in the 90 day program! 10%!!!!!
People also saw better results than they did with P90X and P90X2. Part of that I am sure is that it is easier to stay committed to since the workouts are shorter, BUT it has also been proven you can push harder and burn more fat with a short, intense workout.
What you will need…
The only thing Tony was very specific about was NO running shoes. You need cross training, basketball, or volleyball shoes to help you move laterally. I would expect that he will use a lot of the same equipment that is in the original two P90X workouts. I plan on having my weights, a band or a pull-bar (I use a band), and weights. I’m not saying that’s it, but that’s my guess.
What Kind of Workouts To Expect
Based on the workouts Tony did at the Beachbody events, I think it will be a lot of punching and kicking to get the heart rate up, and then toning moves. His workouts he did with coaches followed this routine: strength exercise, plyo move, an isometric exercise, and core work. He repeated that a few times for a complete whole body workout.
I’ll also be hosting a small challenge group starting each month so if you want in the group please let me know now so I can save you a spot! Just apply here
Remember — you do NOT have to have done or even been interested in P90X or X2 to do this workout! I have never completed P90X or tried X2, but this P90X3 option is perfect for me! Is it right for you?
