10 Healthy Lifestyle Tips
1. Maintain a Healthy Diet
This whole post could be focused on healthy eating, couldn’t it? We practice everything in moderation, but you might find a certain diet works for you.
We’ve reviewed several to help you find what works for you including: Low Carb, Macros, 131 Diet, Clean Eating, 2B Mindset, Nutrisystem and the Whole 30.
The gist of every diet is to eat more complex carbs, lean proteins, and healthy fats. You’ll also want to reduce sugary and processed choices.
You’ll need to find what works for you longterm as part of your healthy lifestyle.
2. Stay Hydrated
There’s no reason to carry gallon jugs around with you, but you need to stay hydrated. The general rule is to drink half your body weight in ounces per day. Therefore, if you weight 150lbs, you’d drink 75 ounces of water over a day.
3. Give Up Smoking & Limit Alcohol
Smoking and alcohol are two habits that require attention. We all know any smoking can be linked to harmful effects.
With that said, alcohol isn’t always painted as worrisome. We love our wine, but studies have shown drinking more than 1 glass per day can cause harmful effects.
Harvard found,
In general, risks exceed benefits until middle age, when cardiovascular disease begins to account for an increasingly large share of the burden of disease and death.
So just something to keep in mind.
4. Brush Your Teeth
We all know to brush our teeth, but it’s not just for fresh breath and to avoid nasty teeth.
Brushing your teeth may lower risk of heart disease, help your memory, reduces risk of infections & inflammation, help maintain blood sugar levels, and even help during pregnancy (source).
5. Get Enough Sleep
Did you know only about 1 in 4 get enough sleep per night?! There is also no proof that we can “catch up” on sleep either.
Sleeping has been linked to better health, energy and even an higher income. So there is no reason to skimp. None.

BUT — stress causes everything from memory loss and changes in mood to obesity and disease. So don’t miss the mental part of living a healthy lifestyle. It’s just as important as your nutrition and exercise.
8. Say No
Part of self care is not overloading yourself with obligations. Saying “No” can help you prioritize what is most important to you and help you be more present in the moment.
It’s also helped us with our self-worth and self-confidence because we are able to do things better than trying to do everything just ok.
The world will keep spinning. Take something off your plate.
A quick way to break the “YES” habit is to say “Thank you for thinking of me. Let me check my calendar and get back with you.”
This gives you time to decide if you want to do something versus hopping right on in to everything.
9. Let Go of Negativity
Negativity can lead to grudges, depression, stress and general unhappiness at the least.
Letting go of negativity might be giving up a friendship, limiting your time scrolling on social media or even changing how you talk to yourself.
